What Variant of English Is the Most Popular in Ukraine?

What variant of English is the most popular in Ukraine? Me as a person who has dedicated his life to the study of foreign languages can answer the question in the very best way.  Here, in Ukraine, everybody is taught as if London variant of British English in school.  In fact the most of secondary school graduates don’t speak English at all or use disastrous Ukrlish or Runglish. Those few really can communicate English prefer American English. Why so? The answer is simple the most of English intellectual products here are from the US so American English is more natural to local people than British English.  Talking about International English that is very popular in Europe it is worth to admit that it’s not needed here because Ukrainians are business contacted to Russians and Polish people in most of the cases and use Russian and Polish to communicate as well. The biggest part of Ukrainian companies with International contacts hires professional translators and interpreters those as I’ve already mentioned prefer American English.

The war is as if over but the tension is still felt well anywhere here. Today’s elections show us that Ukrainian political forces are in heavy struggle. Their competition seems too keen for me. Sometimes I even think that they don’t care about Ukraine at all, the only thing they think about is their own popularity and influence here. I hope this is only my personal impression. Economy is being slowly improved. People say we will have economic troubles just after the election. Well, I hope the things won’t be so grave for us. The only thing that bothers the majority of Ukrainians is the dramatic increase of the housing and communal service tariffs.       

Chess And Capitalism.

And if you want, I’ll tell you a sad story about chess. A boy  lived in a third world country, he was called John, he grew up in a poor family, the child worked hard and one day, when he went to work, he saw two people playing chess. John liked the game, and he wanted to learn it. He lived from hand to mouth for a week and bought a board and pieces, then, John started to visit the local public library, and reread the only book about chess, that was there, for many times he almost learnt it by heart.

 

It was not surprising that John became a very good player and even beat the experienced old men on the street. Well, one day, John wanted to obtain an official international rating in chess. He sat down, thought and then wept. Why did it happen? Because John's salary was $ 100 per month, a single ticket to the city, where the tournament was, was of $ 25 price, the tourney enter fee was $ 55. There was no national federation of chess in John’s country. So why is chess in decay now?

Now I understand that all of us need the harmony of body and soul. The body development is as important as the soul development and only the harmony of the two components can bring us real happiness. Lazy for years body can’t be happy as well as neglected and ignorant soul can't. Your body and soul are like yin and yang. They are two parts of the one. Keep it in mind and develop both of them.  

New life, New Illusions…

Any new life brings us new illusions. We are still humans and we still think imperfectly. The things those look good to us, can appear not so good. The people those look needed by us, can appear not so needed. We just can’t evaluate all the items well enough. We are doomed to make mistakes so we must enjoy our lives in every moment. We must find our personal type of harmony with everybody and everything. Nothing is worth to be worried about… We are about to do some actions or to have some wisdom not to worry about something… New life, new illusions, new searches…

What Do All Of Us Need?

If we are enough educated and have normal health we must be active and optimistic. Our life is short that is why we need to do more so succeed more. We must be quick no matter if we like that we do or not. This universal hint works for the most of possible cases. If you can cope with something quick you can achieve better results in common. It is a sort of axiom. We need to have more real life and really working plans those help us to focus our activities on the most needed. We must learn to evaluate the difficulty level of our current tasks. Even if we do all the described above we definitely can do it better!

Not all the things from civilized world are accessible here. Living standards are very low. Only a few of people here can understand any foreign language. Even good education doesn’t guarantee you anything. Life is changing fast here but the rich become richer while the poor become poorer. We are between the second and the third world, unfortunately being closer to the third world…

When you hang out on the Internet and it can be seen from what country you are, you should not be a shame of your country. You should be a very cultured person. Foreigners are from the other cultures, so we need to be as polite as possible. If you feel that you’ve said something wrong, it is better to apologize. Try to be friendly at the most extent.

An Unexpected Fact About Singapore.

I have been playing chess more than 20 years and I know a lot about this game. I know the most of locations all over the world where the game of chess is well-developed as a sport. Well, I’ve had no idea that Singapore is a chess country | land. Firstly I played with a couple of strong Singaporean players on the official FIDE Arena and secondly it appeared to be that the best of my chess sets had been made in Singapore too. In my opinion in Singapore English traditions of good chess met Asian ability of being pedantic and devoted to something. Anyway I discovered one more pleasant fact about Singapore.

Finally I live a great life! The secret has appeared to be simple I just do things I love and I really need only. My depressions have passed away and now I’m almost totally calm and happy. I just live a life I want to live. I’m mostly satisfied and I improve myself step by step. This is my way, a way I like to go.

The EU  plays too dangerous game! It must firmly insist on a peaceful result of Ukrainian government and pro-Russian rebels negotiations.  People are killed and infrastructure is ruined in Luhans’k and Donets’k regions every day. The war makes a big part of Eastern Europe poorer. Does Western European really believe that it makes their life safer and better? No? Well, why are they passive in stopping the war?   

Current Wars And Weird Position Of International Community.

All of the times we have war here, In Ukraine; I put the one question only. Why does International community do almost nothing about all the currently active wars? Why do they only discuss and do nothing? Why UN organisation is so passive? Every time when there is a severe war anyplace they are deeply concerned but they take no real actions to stop the war. It is XXI century but violence and idiocy, irresponsibility are still with humanity... What a disappointment!
