Almost all of the New Year holidays are over. What's
new in Ukraine in 2016? There is absolutely nothing new. The part of the East
is still at war and the rest of the country is becoming poorer. I really want
to believe that something will change for the better soon. Those facts, we have
now are very sad. You know, hope dies last…

What Variant of English Is the Most Popular in Ukraine?
What variant of English is the most popular in Ukraine?
Me as a person who has dedicated his life to the study of foreign languages can
answer the question in the very best way. Here, in Ukraine, everybody is taught as if
London variant of British English in school. In fact the most of secondary school graduates
don’t speak English at all or use disastrous Ukrlish or Runglish. Those few
really can communicate English prefer American English. Why so? The answer is
simple the most of English intellectual products here are from the US so American
English is more natural to local people than British English. Talking about International English that is
very popular in Europe it is worth to admit that it’s not needed here because Ukrainians
are business contacted to Russians and Polish people in most of the cases and
use Russian and Polish to communicate as well. The biggest part of Ukrainian
companies with International contacts hires professional translators and
interpreters those as I’ve already mentioned prefer American English.
News from Ukraine.
The war is as if over but the tension is still felt
well anywhere here. Today’s elections show us that Ukrainian political forces
are in heavy struggle. Their competition seems too keen for me. Sometimes I
even think that they don’t care about Ukraine at all, the only thing they think
about is their own popularity and influence here. I hope this is only my
personal impression. Economy is being slowly improved. People say we will have
economic troubles just after the election. Well, I hope the things won’t be so
grave for us. The only thing that bothers the majority of Ukrainians is the dramatic
increase of the housing and communal service tariffs.

The Problems Of The "Young Europe".
Not all the
things from civilized world are accessible here. Living standards are very low.
Only a few of people here can understand any foreign language. Even good
education doesn’t guarantee you anything. Life is changing fast here but the
rich become richer while the poor become poorer. We are between the second and
the third world, unfortunately being closer to the third world…

The EU Plays Too Dangerous Game!
The EU plays too dangerous game! It must firmly
insist on a peaceful result of Ukrainian government and pro-Russian rebels
negotiations. People are killed and
infrastructure is ruined in Luhans’k and Donets’k regions every day. The war makes
a big part of Eastern Europe poorer. Does Western European really believe that
it makes their life safer and better? No? Well, why are they passive in
stopping the war?

Current Wars And Weird Position Of International Community.
All of the times
we have war here, In Ukraine; I put the one question only. Why does
International community do almost nothing about all the currently active wars?
Why do they only discuss and do nothing? Why UN organisation is so passive? Every
time when there is a severe war anyplace they are deeply concerned but they
take no real actions to stop the war. It is XXI century but violence and
idiocy, irresponsibility are still with humanity... What a disappointment!

Eurovision 2015 Will Be Without Ukraine.
Eurovision 2015 will be
without Ukraine. Our local organizators have referred to the
difficult situation in the country, lack of funds and the refusal of many singers to participate in
the national final. Is this right? I think isn’t! Global media
inform almost nothing good about Ukraine, and foreign singers cancels their performances here, and our guys refuse probably the last
chance in this year to show Ukraine not only as a country of wild and young democracy, of economic collapse
and war ... Why don’t we like to create our image? Why do we have such a passive
media position?

Concerts In Ukraine: ATO Period.
Russians and other foreigners ask me about concerts in Ukraine. The most of foreign stars have cancelled their concerts in Ukraine, many festivals are cancelled too. But, concerts are held, moreover tickets turn to be significantly cheaper now. People go to the concerts less, but there are no onlookers in the halls. Everyone knows where he or she is going. People have begun to discover local
talents actively.

No Politics And Dirt, Please!
Last seven months were full of politics and dirt.
Russia and its friends blamed Ukraine and its friends of all the possible guilt.
I never thought that so much dirt could appear. Where did they get all the
shit? Why did people allow politics to brainwash them? How would they find a
peaceful solution after all these negative messages? No politics and dirt, please!
Be wiser! Make love, not war!

War…
A few months ago a notion
„war“ turned into a fact here. Very close, brothers by blood and faith killing
reality. The reality that has been existed in the nearby region but now it is
moving to my region. The most of people are worried now. The reality could
erase our lives. They could be changed dramatically and for ever. Never say all
we need is love or all we need is prosperity, always say all we need is a
peaceful sky…

Vamos A La Playa...
Visiting a
beach in Zaporizhzhia
is a unique experience.
On the one hand you get
beautiful nature and
pleasant Dnipro, on
the other hand you get a lot of
trash, industrial landscapes, an
abundance of noise from people on the beach. But visiting a Zaporizhzhian beach is
still cool. In such “campaigns” we can feel some barely noticeable part
of Brazil or, at least, Turkey or Egypt. It is healthy and fresh, in general. )))

A Little Bit About Life
Everything is peaceful,
quiet and calm in Zaporizhzhya. I'm fine, safe and sound. I am enraged by
Russian and Ukrainian politicians and idiots those embroil our nations. I do
not divide the dead into good and bad, I am sorry about all of the casualties,
they all are people and citizens of Ukraine. I dream about peace restoration
and resolve of all issues according to international law. No matter what, Goth
scene in Ukraine is actively developing, we have events and theirs visitors…

Ukraine Really Goes To The EU.
Political part of the European Union Association
Agreement is signed. Throughout its history, Ukraine experienced almost
everything. It was in the Western world, in the Eastern world, totally
independent. Now Maidan and recent events in the country have shown that my
nation and my country are closer to the Western world. I hope that these
changes are for the better. Anyway, in the EU there is no such Ukrainophobia as
in modern Russia is.

Euromaidan Revolution
My country has changed. I’m not giving and evaluation
of the change I just say it never be the same. The EU and The US are supporting
us. We have some disagreements with Russia but I’m sure they are temporary. I
hope that new history of Ukraine will be bright and prosperous. Pray for Ukraine,
dear friends.

Russian March In Kyiv. What for?
One of
the modern Ukraine paradoxes was the Russian march in Kyiv. It was difficult to
explain why the Orthodox Christian radicals, those are low even in Russia, sang
their hymns in Kiev. Passers-by looked at them as if they were aliens from
Mars. But, for radicals, is important to be noticed. They do not care about the
opinions of others at all. That is our reality.

Tomorrow Euro 2012 Starts.
I was sceptical about the upcoming event all the time. I had no optimism about preparations tempo and infrastructure optimization maximum reaching. Well, I admitted I wasn't right about the total progress and local officialdom enthusiasm. But what do I see now? All the improvements have been made in Euro taking cities only. Match tickets and the official Euro 2012 merch are too expensive for an average Ukrainian. Any case, I hope everything will be all right and my Motherland get more international prestige.

Giant Sheatfish Lives in the Dnipro River.
From the early to mid-1990s, there were rumors of huge man-eating sheatfish those lived in the Dnipro River and dragged dogs, cattle, and even the careless children in the river pits. Well, it was something like a regular reporting about UFOs, or yeti, few took it seriously.
However, the fact that Dnipropetrovs’k fishermen contest participant from Zaporizhzhia caught a sheatfish weighing 77 kg, confirmed that giant Dnipro sheatfish exists. These sheatfish, of course, hardly could be cannibals, but the fact remains fact.
Michael Urvantsev fishes all his life. Over the past few years, he has been specializing in catching sheatfish. Untill our illustrious compatriot, caught almost a hundred kg record-breaking barbel the fisherman already had caught 30 and 40-kg fish (average sheatfish is 2-10 kg.). The fisherman had his most memorable mustachioed catch a in the autumn season last year.
Early in the morning in early September he and his assistant fished right along the lines of the Dnipro River . Bait, said the master of a fishing rod, was a traditional combination of a leech and a mole cricket. River titan appeared in the evening. Approximately one and a half of an hour took to torment and pull this mighty fish into the boat. Alas, Zaporizhzhian hasn’t won the contest, but agree it is sure a fishing success.

Ukraine

Ukraine is a rich farming, industrial and mining region in south-eastern Europe. It is an independent democratic state. Its population is about 52 mln people. The capital of Ukraine is Kiev. Ukraine have its own-armed forces, and maintain its own diplomatic relations with foreign countries. Ukraine covers about 603.700 sq. km being larger than any country in Western Europe. From east to west Ukraine stretches for more than 1300 km and from north to south for almost 900 km. It borders with Belarus and Russia on the north and on the east. In the south it is bounded by the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. In the west Ukraine is bounded by Moldova, Rumania, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland. Ukraine is in ideal geographical position for the development of its resources, lying between 440 and 520 latitude north, on the same latitude as the USA, Britain. The climate is mild and warm, with a long summer and a short winter. Together with its fertile black soil, this makes it ideal for the development of intensive agriculture. The main part of Ukraine is located in the watershed of the Dnieper-River, which divides Ukraine into two parts: Right-Bank and Left-Bank Ukraine. Ukraine's proximity to the Black Sea and the presence of large navigable rivers running through its territory has promoted the development of trade and culture. The Black Sea is not only a means of communication with Transcaucasia and Turkey but also with the rest of the world through the Mediterranean Sea. Ukraine also lies on the Danube, and this gives it access to European countries. Through the Siversky Donets it has access to the Don. The territory of Ukraine is criss-crossed by railroads and highways, oil and gas pipelines and high-voltage transmission lines - all of which ensure close economic ties with Eastern and Western Europe. Ukraine is a highly industrialised country, whose economic potential is great
